Jean-Léon Gérôme (my new favorite painter)

So I thought to kickoff by sharing some stuff about Jean-Léon Gérôme (1824 – 1904). A French painter and sculptor, with a style known as "Academicism". Gerome painted about a lot of things, but some of his most famous paintings are the Oriental ones. I posted here some of my favorites.

 

And then ofcourse, my personal favorites, "Arnaut Smoking" and "The Prayer"
