Fairouz at midnight.

Until I get back to college I guess I won't have many exciting arab-student things to share, yet that doesn't mean that I'm out of tricks just yet! ha! enter Fairouz, the greatest female singer to ever sing in Arabic (at least in my opinion). For those of you who love and appreciate Fairouz, welcome comrade! For those of you who have no idea who Fairouz is, don't worry. I'll swallow the insult to my Arab spirit and introduce you to an immortal voice.
Just listen to the rare song below and read the following:

born Nouhad Haddad, known as Fairouz or Fairuz, is a "Lebanese singer who is widely considered to be the most famous living singer in the Arab world and one of the best known of all time". With a career spanning nearly six decades, she is one of the greatest singers in the Arab world. Needless to say, I am just in love with her voice. I was thrilled to find the song above on youtube, as the motion picture is really hard to find (old arab movies, why you no exist on DVD?)
When it comes to my Mazajj (temperament), I love listening to old Arabic music while I study, drink coffee, or smoke the occassional shisha/hooka (gasp!). Yet Fairuz strikes that one chord in my soul that mesmerizes me and gets my soul flowing. Exaggerating? You'd have to be an Arab or have lived in the Arab world for quite a long time to truly understand :)
